Over the years portion sizes have grown, along with the size of our stomachs. We seem to equate good value with a plate over-laden with food, rather than good quality. Your body can only use around 500-600 calories per meal, the rest will be stores as fat. You do not need to overburden your digestive system and put strain on your body by eating copious amounts of unnecessary food, which will only result in weight gain and a sluggish metabolism.
Try using smaller plates
12 inches seems to be the size of the average dinner plate. Try using a 9 inch size so that your smaller portions still look like a sizeable amount, but your calorie intake could be up to 25 percent less.
Remember to balance you plate with the correct amount of food from each food group.
